Thai Lunch and Wine Tasting

Date:   Sunday 21st September
Venue:   The Shangthai Restaurant, Escrick
Time:   11am
Price:   £30.00

A tasting of the following wines using Riedel glasses and normal restaurant glasses. Experience the difference that Riedel glasses make to the appreciation of wine.

  • Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc '07 Marlborough, New Zealand
  • Chardonnay '07 Carmen Estate, Chile
  • Pinotage '06 The Ruins, South Africa
  • Pinot Noir '07 Carmen Estate, Chile.

All these wines are from the restaurant's wine list.

There is no tradition in Thailand of matching wine with food, but the wine list at The Shangthai has been very carefully chosen so that the wines work well with the food. Not everything goes with everything on the menu but if you are adventurous you will find pleasing and exciting combinations.

This will be followed by a three course Thai banquet lunch and with a choice of a glass of one of the Carmen wines.
