A popular annual event, this competition is aimed at young professional Chefs (21 and under) who are keen to demonstrate their abilities. There will be three heats of chefs cooking two courses in 1.5 hour sessions.
One winner from each heat will be invited back for the final on Sunday 28th at 10am. Apart from the title, Young Chef of the Year, the winner will hold the coveted Jamie Parker Trophy for the year. |

Fi Brid of Stirrin' Stuff is a firm favourtie with school's at York Food Festival. Fi teaches about healthy eating in all of her demonstrations and points out, in language that the children understand, just why it is so important to at least try and eat the 'icky green stuff'

Students from York and North Yorkshire Secondary schools have been invited to York Minster to play the Unfairtrade Business Game.
The game is designed to introduce students to the concept of trading in a world-wide market. They will learn first hand that through no fault of their own, the rules of the game can change and they can be in an unfair and unsustainable business position - like many third worls countries. |
