  Every day from 11am, in our beer tent by the fountain, you can experience a selection of Yorkshire Daleside Brewery real ale's.
Not only that, on 6 evenings Daleside is part of our Evening Fountain Cafe when you can go into the tent after a hard day's work, or shopping, and enjoy a pint or a glass of win, to unwind, from 5pm - 9pm.
Alongside Daleside, will be a special series of evening 'hot food stands' so if you don't fancy cooking - go into our Evening funtain cafe, grab a bite to eat and a drink and sit around the fountain, inside a tent and enjoy gentle live music to start your evening.

A change of direction for the Port event this year as York Festival welcomes Tim Stanley-Clarke, Port Ambassador for the Symington family. The Symingtons own some of Portugal’s finest Port Houses including Warre’s, Dow’s, Graham’s and Quinta do Vesuvio. Tim will unravel the intricacies of making port in all its various styles and demonstrate the differences between LBV, Aged Tawny, Single Quinta and Vintage. Jancis Robinson has described Tim as one of the most efficient, lively communicators on wine so this is bound to be a fascinating evening.

  Taste seven different co-operative Fairtrade wines, including white, red and rose.
In addition to the wine tasting there will be a short talk on Fairtrade winegrowers, music provided by an excellent choir and an opportunity to see a wide range of Fairtrade food and drink products.
Fairtrade guarantees producers a fair price for their products.

One of our very popular 'trade-style tastings'. This means upon entering the Guildhall, you are given your own glass which you carry around to various tables tasting lots of different wines as they take your fancy. The high street stores that will be represented are: Sainsbury, Co-op, Waitrose, Booths, Asda, Majestic, Oddbins and Morrisons. So come along, grab a glass and taste your way around the Guildhall at your own pace. A perfect event to attend with friends to compare opinions.

In association with the Whisky Lounge, The Whisky Festival is back! With more exhibitors, a wider range of styles to sample, and a choice of five master classes this year will be the best yet.

You will have the chance to sample the best of malts, blends and even bourbons, as well as to talk to the people who work in the industry who are only to happy to pass on their knowledge and experience.
